We acknowledge that Indigenous peoples lived in the area now known as Port Stanley long before recorded history. We are located on Treaty 2 land, known as the McKee Purchase, signed on May 19, 1790. This is the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, Mississauga, Attiwonderonk, and Haudenosaunee peoples. While we have limited information about the pre-colonial history of Port Stanley, we are committed to learning more about all aspects of our heritage. May we live our lives listening, learning, and striving to be people of reconciliation.
